FHL - Stephens, LLC owns and funds a group of operating companies that design, package and sell consumer goods direct to customers online. We hold the companies and carry the overhead, so the people running each brand can get on with running it.

A parent company is not a brand and does not pretend to be one. Our job is capital, records and the back office — the work that is the same for every company we own, done once instead of five times.
Consumer goods
Everyday products under our own brands: small, specific and useful, chosen because we can make a better one than what is already on the shelf. We would rather own a handful of things people re-order than a catalogue of everything.
Sold direct, online
Each company sells to the customer through its own storefront, which means we answer to the person who bought the thing rather than to a buyer at a chain. The order, the shipment and the complaint all come to the same place.
The back office
Bookkeeping, licensing, insurance, taxes, supplier terms, customer support and the software our companies run on sit here, once, for all of them. It is the cheapest overhead in the group and the reason a small brand can stand up at all.

We start small and we own it
Every company in the group was started or bought with our own money and is held outright. There is no outside investor waiting to be paid back, so nothing has to be rushed to market before it is any good.
Overhead lives here, not there
An operating company carries the product, the customers and the standards for its own trade. Everything else — the books, the filings, the systems — is the parent company's problem. That is the whole point of the arrangement.
We answer the telephone
A customer, a supplier or a carrier who needs a person gets one, at the number below, in business hours Pacific time. Messages left outside those hours are returned the next working day.
We keep our own records
The ordering, stock and support systems our companies run on are built and maintained in house, so a question about an order from two years ago has an answer, and that answer does not depend on a service we rent by the month.
